Two/Four post rack
Typically, data center racks are available in two forms, 2-post, and 4-post racks. The two-post rack is mainly used for IT equipment, which is not very heavy like switches, patch panels, etc. It is also known as a relay or telco rack and is available with two vertical upright support beams. These aren’t enclosed racks and so facilitate easy airflow. 2-post racks require minimal space and are ideal for many computer closets and data centers with limited areas. The 4-post racks have four posts and might include screened doors for easy access and ventilation. The additional posts here make the 4-posts more stable. So, these can hold heavy IT equipment smoothly.
