Object Storage

Object Storage

Object storage, also called object-based storage, refers to the computer data storage architecture. It manages data as specific objects, including the data itself, metadata variables, and globally unique identifiers. These can be implemented at multiple levels, including interface level, system level, device level, and more. It allows the retention of massive quantities of unstructured data in which the data might be written and read once or multiple times. It is used chiefly for storing media files on platforms like Spotify, Facebook, etc. But it isn't ideal for transactional data as object storage cannot replace NAS file sharing and access.
