Network Racks

A network rack refers to the metal frame chassis that can stack, hold, organize, protect, and secure various computer networks as well as the server hardware devices. “Network” here refers to the rack that houses this type of hardware. It is just an umbrella term that can encapsulate various kinds of technologies. Typically, network rack equipment consists of switches, routers, and modems. The switches are the multi-port, high-speed devices that can receive data while redirecting them to the appropriate destination on a LAN. Routers are similar to switches as they can receive and transfer information over multiple networks. In the case of modems, these connect the internet source to the router through an ethernet cord.
